Poems On The MRT [Panels] 2024

Poems On The MRT is an initiative by the National Arts Council, in partnership with SMRT Trains and Stellar Ace. I've worked with Sing Lit Station to produce ten different illustrations alongside excerpts of Singapore poetry throughout SMRT's train network.

These 10 illustrations are deeply inspired by my experiences growing up in Singapore, drawing on familiar places and iconic scenes that resonate with both locals and tourists alike. From the bustling streets to the tranquil river, each illustration reflects the vibrant tapestry of our city, with a focus on spaces that evoke nostalgia and connection. My hope is that these artworks foster a sense of camaraderie across generations, bringing together Singaporeans young and old through shared memories and stories. By reimagining these familiar settings with the theme of reading, I aim to encourage a renewed love for books and ignite a spirit of curiosity and discovery in all who encounter them.
